Charcoal Delish

A combination of a verb and a noun "Spread" and "Bread" equates "Sbread"!
Sbread  from Thailand is situated at Mid Valley Gardens, Kuala Lumpur. The package you see below was brought back all the way from KL to Penang for me to try this charcoal bread. Thanks Ceis!
This is the booklet given to show how you can choose your type of bread(plain white, studded sesame seeds and charcoal bread) and your spread(kaya, taro etc). I had taro spread(yam thingy), surprisingly it complement the taste of the bread so much. Purple and black, how extraordinary.Love it!

There are many benefits of charcoal, ofcourse not asking you to eat the coals use for barbeque pits when you are having diarrhea. mmm...

Medicinal Benefits:
-Activated charcoal main use is totreat accidental poisonings. Once ingested, it binds with certain chemicals in the digestive tract, preventing them from being absorbed into your system and causing harm.
-Activated charcoal lowers the concentration of total lipids, cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood serum, liver, heart and brain.
-Charcoal has been used as a poultice to reduce inflammation and absorb poisons from your skin caused by infection, chemicals, or insect bites and stings.
-Charcoal alleviates intestinal gas and upset stomach.
-Charcoal is also use in the treatment of allergies, skin problems, diabetes mellitus, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, ulcer, bad breath, body odor, lower cholesterol levels, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.

Koi Japanese at Gurney Plaza

I've been there 3 times within less than 2 months, i think? So sink your teeth in on your favourite sushi, drop in to Koi Japanese at 2nd Floor New Wing. Let me introduce to you the person behind this wonderful place, Daisy & her husband who are the owners but he is not present in this picture however the ones who brought the creative daughter in to the world are Mr. & Mrs Lee, parents of Daisy Lee.
Next is the chef, food designer who was telling us about the bentos and his recommended dishes. The picture to his left is the 'sushi maker' - probably not the right term for it :). There are 7 chefs inside the kitchen preparing their best, WOW!

Food is fantastic, I have not enjoyed Japanese food in a long while now and I've tried alot. And the service is superb, comfortable seating, nice view of the G Hotel area if you sit by the window. You've just got to try it to know it. I would love to describe to you the taste but I'm not gonna do that. You've got to taste it yourself to see which suits you.
I've tried more but I can't post it all up and sorry for the poor picture lighting buts thanks to my 8MP W995 for the help that I can get for that day. It was so unfortunate I didn't bring my camera but this will do. Wanna know more go to their facebook Koi Japanese Gurney Plaza Facebook

The Wasabi IceCream is uniquely tasty, don't worry, it wont bite nor burn ya. The salmons are fresh and delicious too and by the way the names in the picture might not be accurate but it gives you the idea.
Thanks Daisy for all the delish recommendations, see ya around!

YUM YUM at Hai Wei Seafood

Last night a group of us went for a scrumptious dinner at Hai Wei Seafood Restaurant situated within Leisure Cove, Tanjung Bungah (Behind Tg Bunga Police Station/Tejani Clinic). It was around RM18 per person for the meal we had. That's not too bad. I enjoyed all the dishes served except for the tofu dish, didnt quite meet my taste. We were served with complimentary plate of watermelon which i didnt snap a photo of it. Well, you all know how slices of watermelon looks like...need I show?:)

Turns out, this place belongs to my senior's ( in secondary school) mom Sally Loi.
I'm surprised many Penang / Malaysia food bloggers have not reviewed this place. I'm waiting for more delicious pictures to be posted by foodie bloggers. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for people who likes chinese cuisine.

Just 60%

JUST PIZZA

As simple as the name sounds, the taste is also simple but good for the money. I felt the bread part abit thick and the ingredients tasted not too bad, i picked pepperoni beef and cheese and they gave a generous portion of cheese, you can taste it and drip it. This food outlet is located in Gurney Plaza, Penang right on lower ground floor near food court. I have two more food reviews I wanted to put up but this truly is the simplest of the lot with the pictures taken from my faithful old cellphone. So hang on for my other food visits.

This great promotion is from Monday-Friday, you save up to 60%.It's really worth it and two can even share. Look at the picture with the standing advertisement - i took the first one with the 7" pizza, and picked cheese cake and paid for RM0.50 for a glass of water. I'm not into gassy drinks so H20 is the best for me. The advert don't say when this promotion will end or it's forever but its not bad to have a taste of what they have before you go for other ala cartes.

Hai Nam Town, Penang

Recently I went to Hai Nam Town to have dinner with my family. I think this was my 2nd time being there. The food is tasty but wee bit expensive than the normal nyonya food. My favourites out of the dishes you see above are the Assam Prawns, Inche Kabin(fried chicken served with Worcester sauce)and the SpringRolls. I forgot to take a picture of the Joo Hoo Char and that was nice too. The fish(ikan tumis) and the beansprout (Taugeh) dish was moderate to my liking but I know others liked it. For your information, the fish and the assam prawns cost around RM 55. So if one of these days is going to be your first time there, I would recommend the dishes above. The desserts are not to be missed too.
The last time I was there, there were no charges for parking but now they charge RM3.00 per entry which I personally find there is no need for this place.
The Hai Nan Town Restaurant(Hainanese and Nyonya cuisine) is located by the Jetty at Weld Quay,Penang,Malaysia. They have another outlet near Bukit Jambul next to some Nasi Kandar Restaurant. This has much nicer view and you can take short walks nearby the jetty. Beautiful sceneries-something like this one.Just using my phone camera.

Little Oasis at Prangin Mall

Top Left - Almond Fish
Top Right - Thick Mushroom Soup
Bottom Left - Stuff Chicken
Bottom Right - Oasis Menu Cover

Little Oasis, The Fusion Kitchen is right in the heart of Prangin Mall, Penang. You can spot it from any escalator at the middle atrium.Anyway its on level 3. The dishes that my friend and I tried was not too bad on an overall critic. The almond fish has a nice creamy taste and the accompaniment of almonds made it taste really good. However, the stuff chicken was rather plain, abit tough on the stuffings and dry on the skin. The set comes with a ice lemon tea and ice cream as well. The set is RM15.90, other sets that consist lamb and salmon would range from RM19.90 to over RM 23. They have japanese and oriental dishes besides western food.
Quite a few tables of foreigners, crowded on a Saturday so I believe there are dishes that are nice to try though my belly couldn't afford it no more. :)
A recommended place to dig your teeth in when you drop in Prangin Mall. This was my very first time.

Coffee Lovers

"I need my coffee, i need my coffee!" says the addicted Farrah as she opens her desk drawer and to her astonishment there was no more coffee 3 in 1 coffee packets left, she has forgotten to take from home. Panic, she ask her colleagues for coffee, it doesnt matter what type of coffee, she's just desperate for a dose of caffeine to keep her on her toes for a day's work. To her rescue, Greg threw to her from the opposite cubicle,a 2 in 1 Hai Peng coffee and said, "You will love this". After making her coffee, just a sip and she sighed a relief and exclaimed "Mmm...it is to die for"

If i were to put a counter just for coffee lover visitors,i cannot imagine how many there will be.
I'm not a coffee addict needing it daily but i do love a cup of aromatic brew of quality coffee beans once in a while. And recently i came across Hai Peng coffee, hailing from a town called Kemaman, Terenganu. Imagine this coffee house or locally known as kopitiam was established in 1940. Alot of locals and tourist thronging the place everyday. The kaya is so yummy, you'll be tempted to buy a dozen back to share with your chums.
