Wong Shuenda & Trinity College London Piano

Wong Shuenda was invited by Trinity College London Piano to speak in this seminar. The topics are on the exam pieces from grade 6 - 8. He played all the pieces skillfully and with that performance zest to it, you just wished your students could just play like him. Well they probably would with much practice and tenacity. He explained on the composer and abit of their history as well as the rudiments of how to play the piece excellently. Its a 9 - 5pm seminar with in between coffee breaks. A Night at Gurney Paragon

Gurney Drive is bustling with people as shoppers throng at Gurney Plaza but the current highlight is Gurney Paragon - the retail-cum-residential complex. It opens on 16th January and this was my first time at Gurney Paragon and my friends and I tried out the Brussels restaurant (which will be reported more at  My Tasting Outloud : Brussels Beer Cafe ). I read somewhere that soon a hotel of 200 rooms called Baby G will be open right here at Gurney Paragon. Baby G shares the same management as G Hotel, right next door.

We walked down memory lane of the place now known as Gurney Paragon and was once St. Joseph Novitiate,a historical building. We read through every frame of the wall with its pictures and learn its history. I only knew it was occupied by the Uplands International school till they moved to Batu Feringghi. Gurney Plaza & Christmas

Ho Ho Ho, Christmas is coming to town, almost all retail outlets are decorated with Christmas trees and ornaments, stereo playing Christmas carols, shopping malls filled with Christmas events and that is a glimpse of Christmas drawing near. As you can see, I have the word ‘Christmas’ written 5 times within a sentence. And that’s exactly what we hear, see and feel during this season.
Gurney Plaza has a large crystal ball right outside facing the sea. Within it are the reindeers out of reach. Inside the mall you see snowflakes hanging all over and a stage transformed into a house covered with snow and Santa Claus hovering over the chimney top.

Families, young and old buzzing shopping for Christmas gifts and enjoying the Christmas atmosphere. In Malaysia, half the month of November and whole of December is a school holiday for the school goers, a time to enjoy and relax, regaining new strength for the new year. What do you expect in 2012?

Took this for fun at Level 3, just realised that my notebook has a colour of my name ~ Grace Silver. I would have picked Luxe White Pearl but I didn't have a choice then. Now I know why ! :)

Koi Japanese at Gurney Plaza

 I've been there 3 times within less than 2 months, i think? So sink your teeth in on your favourite sushi, drop in to Koi Japanese at 2nd Floor New Wing. Let me introduce to you the person behind this wonderful place, Daisy & her husband who are the owners but he is not present in this picture however the ones who brought the creative daughter in to the world are Mr. & Mrs Lee, parents of Daisy Lee.
Next is the chef, food designer who was telling us about the bentos and his recommended dishes. The picture to his left is the 'sushi maker' - probably not the right term for it :). There are 7 chefs inside the kitchen preparing their best, WOW!

Food is fantastic, I have not enjoyed Japanese food in a long while now and I've tried alot.And the service is superb, comfortable seating, nice view of the G Hotel area if you sit by the window.You've just got to try it to know it. I would love to describe to you the taste but I'm not gonna do that. You've got to taste it yourself to see which suits you.

The Wasabi IceCream is uniquely tasty, don't worry, it wont bite nor burn ya. The salmons are fresh and delicious too and by the way the names in the picture might not be accurate but it gives you the idea.

JUST PIZZA

As simple as the name sounds, the taste is also simple but good for the money. I felt the bread part abit thick and the ingredients tasted not too bad, i picked pepperoni beef and cheese and they gave a generous portion of cheese, you can taste it and drip it. This food outlet is located in Gurney Plaza, Penang right on lower ground floor near food court. I have two more food reviews I wanted to put up but this truly is the simplest of the lot with the pictures taken from my faithful old cellphone. So hang on for my other food visits.

This great promotion is from Monday-Friday, you save up to 60%.It's really worth it and two can even share. Look at the picture with the standing advertisement - i took the first one with the 7" pizza, and picked cheese cake and paid for RM0.50 for a glass of water. I'm not into gassy drinks so H20 is the best for me. The advert don't say when this promotion will end or it's forever but its not bad to have a taste of what they have before you go for other ala cartes.

New Al-Ikhsan Outlet at Gurney Drive

Guess what? Al-Ikhsan Outlet is now open at Jalan Kelawai, Gurney Drive,Penang. It is opposite the mamak newstand and same row as the Shell Station. Al-Ikhsan is also found in Queensbay Mall and Sunway Carnival however Good news for the north side penangites and it is only 2minute drive from Gurney Plaza. You can find plenty of good sports brand such as Nike, Reebok, Brooks, Adidas and so on.

Not to forget the couch potatoes and online shoppers, there is also an option for consumers to buy online at Al-Ikhsan Online
