A Chef in the Making

Tan Jo Ann, an 18 year old chef in the making, worked real hard for the competition Battle of the Chef recently organized at Straits Quay, Penang. We all got together for food tasting of the dishes that she had entered for the competition.

From the time I had known her till last year, she had no idea what she was going to study that will chart her path for her future undertaking. I knew she was good with her hands fixing things, cutting hair, so it was not a surprise
she took up Culinary Studies.

As I was saying, we were tasting her dishes. First we were served Homemade Pasta with Clam and Creamy Red Pesto. Truly creamy with a tinge of oriental taste probably because of the white Chinese lettuce she included. Overall it was appetizing so that's primarily the most important thing to my tongue tasting experience.

Next we have Clam Soup with Raviolli, its soothing but I could not take too much of it as the presence of clam was overwhelming for me. Overall it was good and a good start for a bright future.

All the best in your future undertaking. God's blessing upon you, gal!
